Whole Brain Teaching
Our classroom uses the classroom management system of Whole Brain Teaching. This was created to keep students engaged and motivated throughout the entire day. Flexible Seating
Research shows that increased oxygen to the brain also increases academic achievement and improves both on task behavior and overall health. These are some of the main reasons we have adopted flexible seating into our classroom. Throughout the year ask your children how their classroom is changing! We slowly introduce them to many seating options to help them learn best. Some of these different seats include, wobble chairs, scoots, lap desks, stand up tables and more.
Technology
As you have probably heard the Babylon School District has just moved to being 1:1 with technology! This provides your child with many opportunities to integrate their learning with new technology based programs. Providing our students with tools that will take them into the 21st century is our goal. What a better way to do this than with technology, the tool that runs our modern world. Inside the classroom we allow students to explore, utilize and learn from many different means of technology. You and your child will become familiar and interact together with programs like, Padlet, Educreations, Plickers and Class Seesaw to name a few. Feeling overwhelmed? Don't worry, your child will soon be able to teach you all about these educational programs.
